Born in Pennsylvania, Janine Sherman spent many years in Arkansas, and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Arkansas State University in 1984.
In 1996, she received her Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Texas-Houston, training as a Nurse Practitioner in women’s health care. Since joining the practice in 1999, she has specialized in teen health.
Her emphasis is to help young women by empowering them through knowledge of their body and learning to make responsible sexual decisions. In addition to her clinical practice, she is the award winning author of “Start Talking, A girl’s guide for you and your mom about health sex and whatever.” Janine is presently earning her certification in sex education and sexology, which is part of the journey toward her doctorate.
In addition she is working on her next book for college students. Janine and her husband, Dr. Steve Sherman, have 3 children. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family and travel.
Janine Sherman is certified by National Certification Corporation and is a member of the Houston Area Nurse Practitioners and Texas Nurse Practitioners.
